What modifications, if any, did you make to the design described in the Build Manual?
I reduced the height of the topsides (gunwales) by 20mm, and brought the foot bulkhead 100mm forward, with the top of it curved as for Shrike Too. I also added fore and aft foam filled bulkheads and a front hatch.
What is the weight of the finished kayak?
I opted to lay 200gr glass fiber cloth inside and outside the hull and used heavier ozigo marine plywood, so she finished at about 20 kg.
Any tips you’d like to suggest to future builders?
I would recommend that future newbie builders not be picky during building. My build would have been finished weeks before if I hadn’t worked on small but unimportant things like a scratch on the last varnish coat. You don’t need to add another coat for a couple of bubbles or scratches etc. It will be scratched on the first launch!
How does the kayak perform on the water?
Like a hot knife through butter!
