What model Shrike did you choose?
I built my oldest granddaughter a lv model with a few alterations.
What modifications, if any, did you make to the design described in the Build Manual?
I added 2 inches to the bottom tapering to nothing at the bow & stern and 3/8ths height to the sides. also put a little bow to the stern half of the deck to help the strips not have to twist so much.
What is the weight of the finished kayak?
Came in about 53 pounds little heavier than I wanted but I have a tendency to over build, I know what I put a boat thru !
How does the kayak perform on the water?
As far as handling she has very little experience in kayaking but going thru boat wakes it sliced them like they weren’t there, steering she had some problems as she is light and the boat is very responsive I think with some experience she will get that down. feel free to post. Thanks again
